Here's What's Shakin' at Shaker Village this Christmas!

'Tis the season to be merry! The Kentucky Taste Buds are all about having fun in the Bluegrass which is why we love Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Shaker Village has so many great events happening in December that will put you in a festive mood. Take a look below to see all of their spectacular activities - perfect for the whole family. 1. Holiday Lunch at The Trustees’ Table

Dec. 1-23, Weekdays 11:30am-3:00pm, Weekends 11:30am-1:30pm, $10-$32

Holiday Lunch at The Trustees' Table is perfect for large or small groups looking to celebrate the season. You'll enjoy a three-course meal of soup or salad, a choice of five different entrées and homemade desserts. Hot rolls and coleslaw will also be served.



2. Candlelight Tours

December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, Fridays 6:00pm, Saturdays 6:00pm & 7:00pm, $10-$15

Take a guided stroll to trace the evolution of Christmas celebrations in Shaker communities every Friday and Saturday evenings in the lead up to Christmas. Their Candlelight Tours make the perfect addition to our Illuminated Evenings events on Saturdays in December.



3. Illuminated Evenings

Saturdays, Dec. 3,10 & 17, 5-8:00pm

Discover the holiday spirit during Shaker Village’s Illuminated Evenings events. Hop on the Jingle Bell Shuttle, write a letter to Santa, sip hot chocolate, enjoy music performances, make a craft in the Elf Shop and sing carols while they light up the tree. Admission is $5, but it will be waived if you bring donations of new gloves, hats, scarves and non-perishable food for the Shaker Village Giving Tree.



4. Eco-Ornaments Workshop

Saturday, Dec. 10, 10:00am-1:00pm, $25-$30 (tickets must be purchased in advance)

In this workshop you’ll learn to make beautiful, simple and even scented decorations using non-harmful materials you can find around your house and in your neighborhood.



5. Holiday Reed Stars Workshop

Saturday, Dec. 17, 10:00am-Noon, $55-$65 (tickets must be purchased in advance)

Try your hand at weaving an intricate star pattern using reed, which can be replicated at home in a variety of sizes and materials. All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary.
